about

I began making jewelry at age 10: simple friendship bracelets and barrettes with ribbons and tri-beads (you know, the 80s, Xanadu) and a few ghastly papier mache brooches that my mom and grammies were so sweet to wear.

I started milk&honey in 2004 to make a more permanent space for my bead stringing, wirework, knitting, metalsmithing, stamping, drawing, and sewing (still playing with beads, ribbons, paper, and glue). My focus is one-of-a-kind designs, with lots of attention on materials and construction.

I'm a member of The Handmaidens, a collective of independent artists, designers, and crafters from North Carolina. We sponsor The Handmade Market, a unique shopping event that showcases the work of indie artists from NC and beyond.

I grew up in the Midwest and learned the value of homemade from my family, a long line of artists, crafters, and gardeners. I've lived in Raleigh for 12 years, and I'm happily married to a man named Raleigh. We have a baby girl named Evelyn, two cats, a lovely garden, and a whole room devoted to milk&honey projects.

Thank you for visiting milk&honey -- come again soon!
